Advances in the Automation of Released N-Glycan Analysis for LC and LC-MS

Monitoring N-Glycosylation is increasingly applied in the development of biopharmaceuticals and the study of diseased cells. However, leveraging these complex techniques can pose challenges for fast-paced organizations. Automation of sample preparation procedures can improve assay repeatability, precision, and reproducibility, easing the burden of analytical method validation.
Presenter: Steven Calciano (Senior Product Manager, Waters Corporation)
Steven Calciano joined Waters Corporation in 2015 and is responsible for bringing innovative large molecule chromatography and mass spectrometry sample preparation solutions to market. Prior to his current role, Steven supported analytical standards and reagents products across pharmaceutical, environmental, chemical and food industries, gaining an understanding of a variety of complex analytical workflows. He strives to bring enabling technology to LC-MS users which simplify and streamline sample preparation methods.
Presenter: Corey Reed (Scientist, Waters Corporation)
Corey Reed is a Scientist in the Biopharm group at Waters Corporation. He Graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology and a master’s degree in molecular and cellular biology. He joined Waters immediately following graduation.
Corey’s achievements at Waters have primarily been related to automation of key chemistry kits offered by the company, particularly those focused on N-glycan and amino acid analysis. Working closely with the Andrew Alliance automation platform he has successfully transferred these chemistries and enabled increased sample throughput, time savings, and method precision for customers.
Beyondhissuccessesin automation, Corey hasdevelopedsize-exclusion separations with multi-angle lights scattering (MALS) detection as well aschromatographic methods forbiotherapeutics.
Moderator: Lama Berro (Americas Chemistry Field Marketing Manager, Waters Corporation)
Lama Berro is the Chemistry Field Marketing Manager for the Americas. She has worked in bioanalytical labs at pharmaceutical companies and contract labs and has been supporting consumables products at Waters since 2015.
