HPTLC for Identity and Quality of Natural Health Products

The Natural Health Product Research Society of Canada (NHPRS) will host an educational webinar on High-Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) for Identity and Quality of Natural Health Products.
This webinar is intended for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, researchers, regulators, and industry QA/QC professionals working with botanical and non-botanical natural health products (NHPs).
The session will provide a comprehensive overview of HPTLC, including:
- What HPTLC is and how the analysis is performed.
- How to interpret HPTLC results and how the technique compares with other analytical methods
- Why HPTLC is increasingly adopted as a standard method in pharmacopoeias
- How HPTLC serves as an essential tool for identity testing, quality assurance, and adulteration detection
The webinar will highlight the growing role of HPTLC in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and the European Pharmacopoeia, both officially recognized in Canada, with a particular focus on botanical NHPs.
Specific topics include:
- Principles, instrumentation, and methodology of HPTLC
- The expanding use of HPTLC in legally authoritative pharmacopoeias for identity and quality control
- Real-world case studies demonstrating HPTLC applications for botanical and non-botanical NHPs/dietary supplements, including quality, safety, and adulteration issues
Free for members (students and post-doctoral fellows $25/y, others $100/y)
