An Open-Access LC-MS Platform with Agilent OpenLab CDS SDK

The Analytical and Purification Sciences group provides key technologies for medicinal chemistry projects within Discovery R&D at AbbVie, including:
- Open-Access LC-MS
- High-Throughput Purification
- Chiral Analysis and Separation
- High-Throughput Chemistry/High-Throughput Experimentation Library
- Analysis and Purification
To enable these capabilities, numerous bespoke software applications have been created within the group to enable open-access instrument usage, data analysis, and sample tracking. This presentation will highlight the development and implementation of a complete Open-Access LC-MS platform to support medicinal chemistry projects using the Agilent OpenLab CDS Software Developers Kit (SDK).
Presenter: Philip A. Searle Ph.D. (Sr. Principal Research Scientist, AbbVie Inc.)
Philip A. Searle is a Senior Principal Research Scientist at AbbVie Inc., serving as Group Leader for the Analytical and Purification Sciences group within Discovery R&D in North Chicago. He earned his B.Sc. in Chemistry and his Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the University of Bath (UK). Dr. Searle completed post-doctoral research at UC Davis, focusing on Marine Natural Products Chemistry, where he contributed to the discovery of Phorboxazoles A and B. He also held a post-doctoral fellowship at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute in Florida. Dr. Searle joined Abbott Laboratories in 1996 and became part of AbbVie when it was established as a spin-off in 2013. He leads efforts providing analytical and high-throughput purification technologies for medicinal and high-throughput chemistry research within AbbVie.
