The increasing demand for process analytical technologies in biopharma is a result of pressure from the market and regulatory agencies to reduce development times, improve yield and transition to lights-out manufacturing - while maintaining product quality. Waters Technologies offers a complementary set of advanced PAT tools that address these needs in upstream and downstream processing for biopharmaceuticals and gene therapies: BioAccord™ at-line, walk-up LC-MS, PATrol™ online UPLC with automated process sampling, and ultraDAWN™ real-time MALS & DLS for inline and online monitoring of biophysical attributes. Presenter: Dan Some, Ph.D. (Sr. Principal Product Manager, Waters | Wyatt Technology)

Dr. Daniel Some is Sr. Principal Product Manager at Waters | Wyatt Technology, where he contributes to product and application development as well as scientific and technical marketing. He developed Wyatt’s instrumentation and software for characterizing biomolecular interactions, and currently leads the real-time MALS process analytics technology product line. Prior to joining Wyatt he developed patterned wafer PAT tools for the semiconductor industry.

Presenter: Caitlyn Da Costa, Ph.D. (Principal Product Manager, Waters Corporation)

Caitlyn Da Costa is Principal Product Manager for LCMS solutions in the bioprocess and PAT space at Waters. She oversees the development of in-line and on-line LCMS technologies for comprehensive in-process product quality and process monitoring. With a PhD in Mass Spectrometry and over a decade of experience in life sciences, Caitlyn pairs deep technical expertise with a passion for customer-driven design and collaborative innovation—delivering impactful solutions that address the dynamic needs of modern bioprocessing.

Rana Sader leads the PATROL™ UPLC system product at Waters, driving advancements in process analytical technology for biopharmaceutical applications. With over 15 years of experience in the life sciences industry, she combines expertise in product management and marketing, process automation and digital technologies. With a passion for innovation, her work focuses on enabling data-driven technologies for process monitoring and control to support the industry's shift toward next-generation smart biomanufacturing.
