Presenter: Michael Topka, Ph.D. (Senior Technical Support Specialist, Waters Corporation)
Michael Topkaholds a BSc (Hons.) in Chemistry from Union College (Schenectady, NY) and a PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Rensselaer, NY). With a robust background in analytical chemistry, Michael has consistently leveraged science and technology to address complex challenges. Transitioning from a quality control environment as a Waters customer, Michael now serves as a Waters Technical Specialist. In this role, he utilizes his comprehensive expertise in Waters' complete solutions, encompassing chemistry, liquid chromatography, and detection methods ranging from visible absorption to mass spectrometry. Michael is dedicated to assisting customers in developing efficient and robust methods, as well as troubleshooting existing ones to ensure their success.Presenter: Rich DeMuro (Principal Technical Support Specialist, Waters Corporation)
Rich joined Waters as a Technical Support Specialist in 2008. Based in the Waters Chicagoland Applications Lab, he is responsible for the support of Waters separation, MS and informatics platforms as well as their applications. During his long year career in the analytical instrument industry, he has worked extensively with a broad range of techniques while specializing in the field of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. Rich earned a BS in Nutrition from the University of Delaware and serves on the board of the Chicago Chromatography Discussion Group as the chair of their HPLC education initiatives.
Presenter: Marie-Christine Tang (Technical Support Specialist, Waters Corporation)
Marie-Christine is a Technical Support Specialist in the Montreal area fluent in French and English, catering to the local needs. She supports sales and customers by sharing her knowledge on Empower, MassLynx, waters_connect, HPLC, and LC-MS, with more focus on small molecules applications. Prior to joining Waters, she has cumulated 14 years of experience working in a mass spectrometry platform at University of Montreal developing methods in LC-MS/MS, high resolution MS, purification and helped managing an open access lab.

Maggie Christian holds a BS in Analytical Chemistry from Colorado State University and an MBA from Vlerick Business School. With over 15 years of experience in the industry, she excels at providing solutions that drive her customers' success. Maggie's career at Waters began as an instrument sales representative, eventually transitioning into a business development role. Her strategic thinking and passion for innovation were key in forging partnerships across diverse industries. After moving into the Senior Chemistry Account Manager position, she further expanded her expertise to better support her customers' needs. Maggie continues to leverage her in-depth knowledge to raise awareness of the latest techniques and provide ongoing support to her clients.
