Enhancing Bioprocess Development through Spent Media Analysis by LC-MS: Automated and Rapid Workflow with Data Connectivity via JMP

Waters continues to make significant efforts to provide fit for purpose solutions that alleviate pressure points and bottlenecks in analytical testing to advance bioprocess development. As a follow up to the launch of the Waters Bioprocessing Walk-up Solutions with Automation Portal in September 2024, we are now releasing the new Bioprocessing Monitor App that enables routine monitoring of protein titer, spent media metabolites, and protein quality from a single LC-MS experiment.
Come join us to gain insight into the newly released Bioprocess Monitor App. During the webinar, you will:
- Hear from an industry seasoned scientist, who will discuss the challenges faced in supporting bioprocess development with analytical tools, share hands on experience with the Waters BioAccord LC-MS System for spent media analysis.
- Get an in-depth review from a Waters consulting scientist on the Bioprocess Monitor App, along with application examples showing the routine monitoring of bioreactions.
- See a demo of the Bioprocess Monitor App workflow, including the new add-in feature to connect LC-MS data with JMP. This data connectivity enables process insights with design of experiments (incorporating LC-MS results), facilitates rapid and confident decision-making to expedite bioprocessing.
Presenter: Alex Hayes (Scientist I, CSL Seqirus)
Alex Hayes is a Scientist I at CSL Seqirus. For the past 5 years, she has been with the Biopharmaceutical Development Department. Her work is focused on upstream process development, which includes enhancing cell growth and influenza virus titer via media development and bioprocess improvements. Prior to CSL Seqirus, Alex worked several years in the plasma industry as a clinical lab scientist in a QC lab. She has been a collaborator with Waters to implement and utilize the BioAccord LC-MS System for spent media analysis in the flu cell culture process. Alex holds a B.S in Biology and M.S in Biomedical Science. Her graduate research was focused in immunology and virology.
Presenter: Mark Wrona (Consulting Scientist, Process Analytics Technology & Engineering, Waters Corporation)
Mark leads a science applications and development team at Waters, focused on creating and testing applications and hardware analytical tools for the bioprocess and biologics industry. His team aims to seamlessly integrate hardware and analytical methods for PAT monitoring of product quality attributes, nutrients, and process parameters using advanced LC and LC-MS technologies. Since 2010, Mark has been with Waters, previously working in drug development for Merck Research Laboratories, and applies his diverse background to developing new technologies. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biochemistry and Biotechnology, fueling his passion for ongoing innovation in this field.
