Technology Networks: Transforming Viral Vector Manufacturing With Capillary Electrophoresis
Technology Networks: Transforming Viral Vector Manufacturing With Capillary Electrophoresis

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) is transforming viral vector manufacturing for next-generation biopharmaceuticals. Traditionally used for quality control, CE can now be used to profile viral proteins in AAV particles and examine genome integrity during production, thanks to novel sample preparation techniques.

In this webinar, our expert speakers will explore the different ways that CE is advancing biopharmaceutical development. They will also discuss how new reference standards are improving our understanding of genome and protein sizes in viral particles and how this impacts the development of viral vector-based therapies.

Attend this webinar to:

  • See how CE is being utilized to profile viral proteins in AAV particles during manufacturing
  • Discover how CE is instrumental in examining the genome integrity of viral particles throughout production
  • Explore how the adoption of new reference standards is enhancing the understanding of genome and protein sizes during viral particle manufacturing

Presenter: Yolande Masson (Analytical Scientist at Yposkesi, an SK Pharmteco Company)

After a Master's degree in Cell and Gene Biotherapies, Yolande began her professional career as cell therapy engineer, focusing on the development of skin cell production protocols for clinical trials and associated controls. She joined the Centre d'eXpertise Analytique (CXA) team in 2019, specializing in the development, validation and transfer of control methods for viral vectors gene therapy. She developed expertise in cell-based assay, flow cytometry and AUC. For the past year, she has been collaborating with SCIEX on implementing analytical methods for the control of rAAVs genome integrity using capillary electrophoresis.

Presenter: Dr. Stephen Lock (Senior Market Development Manager, Biopharma at SCIEX)

Dr. Stephen Lock obtained his PhD in Physical Organic Chemistry from the University College of Swansea in 1993 and is a chartered chemist and a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Previously a lecturer of Chemistry at the University of Hull he has worked for SCIEX in various technical roles for over 25 years. He has over 30 years’ experience in Analytical Chemistry and has presented at nearly one hundred international meetings around the world. Steve is currently the EMEAI Biopharma Senior Market Development Manager for SCIEX and is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pannonia where he acts in a volunteer role as a Scientific Advisor for the Horváth Csaba Memorial Laboratory lead by Prof. Andras Guttman. At the Horváth Csaba Memorial Laboratory Steve provides technical advice and supports the groups fundamental research and development of new applications for capillary electrophoresis.

Presenter: Juliette Laigle (Analytical Scientist at Yposkesi, an SK Pharmteco Company)

After obtaining her Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Advanced Therapies, Juliette began her professional career as a Quality Control Engineer at Yposkesi, focusing on the validation of analytical methods used for viral vectors control. She then joined the Analytical eXpertise Center (CXA) team at its inception, specializing in the development, validation, and transfer of these methods, while also working on the implementation and automation of various analytical techniques. For the past year, she has been collaborating with SCIEX on implementing analytical methods for the control of rAAVs using capillary electrophoresis.
