Whether the goal is to obtain enough intermediate for the next step in a synthetic scheme or to polish a final product, preparative liquid chromatography is one of the primary techniques for isolation compounds from complex mixtures. Despite this fact, purification often seems difficult with many opportunities for undesirable outcomes, such as poor compound purity, low yield, or target loss. All these unfortunate results require time-consuming rework, a detriment to the all-to-familiar compressed timelines evident in so many workplaces today.

The uncertainty and fear associated with scaling up a separation can be mitigated by adopting simple suggestions which help to ensure success. Practical and easily implemented tips for predictable scaleup and successful compound isolation will be the focus of this webinar.

Presenter: Jo-Ann Jablonski (Principal Scientist, Waters Corporation)

Jo-Ann Jablonski is a Principal Scientist in the Consumables and Lab Automation Group at Waters Corporation. Prior to joining Waters, she worked in biotechnology synthesizing, characterizing, and purifying biomolecules for research and development. She later transitioned to developing a process for the manufacture of a therapeutic peptide product. Since joining Waters, Jo-Ann has provided technical support, training, and application assistance to customers using Waters’ chemistry products and instrumentation, with an emphasis on purification technologies.
