GPC Lightning Talks: Gearing up Toward Improved GPC/SEC Workflows
Agilent Technologies: GPC Lightning Talks: Gearing up Toward Improved GPC/SEC Workflows
Gel permeation chromatography/Size-exclusion chromatography (GPC/SEC) is used to determine molar mass averages and the complete molecular weight distribution of a sample. It is mostly used to characterize polymers, but it is also excellent for separations of oligomers and small molecules.
Successful method development and optimization requires a deeper knowledge of the technique itself in order to determine the best running conditions, the correct column to use, and/or to consider the use of specialized detectors, such as a Viscometer or Light Scattering Detector when looking into full polymer characterization.
If you answer YES to one of the questions below, join us for these 15 minute GPC lightning talks for quick, precise information covering tips for successful method development, fast GPC column alternatives and to learn more about the advantages that advanced detection could bring to your current GPC analysis and/or instrumentation.

Presenter: Lorena Lopez Pena (LC Application Scientist, Agilent Technologies, Inc.)
Lorena has a degree in Chemical Engineering, and she is currently based out of the Agilent facilities in Lexington, Massachusetts. She has been with Agilent for almost 7 years tightly involved within Liquid Chromatography and Dissolution instrumentation.
She has a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry where she started her career as a lab scientist, followed by scientific research and development, and has been focusing on the Biopharma field for the last couple of years within her current role as an LC Application Scientist.
Presenter: Jean Lane (Application Engineer, Agilent Technologies, Inc.)
Jean has been employed with Agilent since Nov 2010 in technical and applications support and has a primary role supporting Agilent’s full line of LC columns and consumables, which also includes support for Agilent’s GPC/SEC product line. She came to Agilent thru acquisition of Varian and the former Polymer Laboratories. Jean has 20 plus years of technical and applications support for both HPLC and GPC consumable products. In addition to practical chromatography experience in the laboratory, she has had many, many years in her technical role involving customer support providing assistance and troubleshooting for customer chromatography issues.
