Simple automation for everyday tasks
SelectScience/Waters Corporation: Simple automation for everyday tasks
Time is precious. You only have a certain number of hours in a day, so how can you be more efficient? Would you love to be able to press a button and have a robot do all those tedious but critical pipette tasks?
Meet the Andrew+ pipetting robot, featuring OneLab software. This technology does it all using conventional laboratory pipettes and trcking all steps within the software. Whether you have simple or complex liquid handling tasks, invest in a flexible platform that grows with your laboratory’s ever-changing needs and methods.
Join us for a three-part webinar to hear fellow scientists share their experiences and successes with Andrew+. Learn how you can leverage automation and use Andrew+ to gain efficiencies and future-proof your methods.
Session 1 - Automating proteomics sample preparation with meso-scale robotics
- 15:00 GMT / 16:00 CET / 10:00 EST / 07:00 PST
Presenter: Matthew M. Champion (Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Notre Dame)
Matthew M. Champion, Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, earned his B.Sc. in Microbiology at the University of Iowa and obtained his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Texas A&M University. Dr. Champion then worked in the Mass-Spectrometry-Proteomics Group at Applied Biosystems (AB Sciex). He remained there for over 6 years, and then accepted a position as a research assistant professor at the University of Notre Dame. He currently serves as an Associate Professor at Notre Dame. The Champion Laboratory specializes in microbial proteomics and metagenomics and this research focuses on the development and exploitation of novel approaches to identify and characterize the protein components from virulent microorganisms. Dr. Champion’s lab has several ongoing projects in pathogenic mycobacteria, protein translation in E. coli, and quantitative microbial separations measured using capillary electrophoresis.
Session 2 - Andrew+ the pipetting robot: Multitasking made easy
- 16:00 GMT / 17:00 CET / 11:00 EST / 08:00 PST
Presenter: Michelle Lyons, Senior Scientist working within the Analytical Development team, that is part of the Process Development family at Fuijifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, UK
Michelle Lyons is a Senior Scientist working within the Analytical Development team, part of the Process Development family, at Fuijifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, UK. With over 25 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Michelle has worked extensively across a wide variety of analytical roles allowing for a thorough understanding of many analytical techniques. Her special interest in robotics and automation is underpinned by a passion for improvement and efficiency.
Session 3 - Simplifying the complexity of analytical workflows: Implementation of a flexible, automated pipetting platform for liquid handling and sample preparation
- 17:00 BST / 18:00 CEST / 12:00 EDT / 09:00 PDT
Presenter: Mary Trudeau, Consulting Scientist Sample Prep & Automation, Waters Corporation
Mary Trudeau is a principal applications scientist and manager for the Sample Preparation and Automation group within the Chemistry R&D Division at Waters. Following a successful career in pharma with Pfizer, Mary joined Waters in 2011. She is responsible for developing and optimizing methods and workflows to address customer pain points across multiple market segments. Her team’s primary focus has been developing and highlighting automated sample preparation workflows for both small and large molecules.
Who Should Attend?
The content of this event is ideal for researchers, professors, scientists, and laboratory managers that are looking at saving time, gaining efficiency and consistency in their laboratories, and have a high level of manual, time intensive repeat pipetting and sample preparation bench work.
