HILIC – A Beginner’s Guide

When it comes to HILIC there are various opinions regarding the topic. It seems as if most users are either enthusiastic about this technique for the analysis of polar compounds or they are strongly averse due to bad experiences.
A possible source for poor results may be a lack of information. After all the mechanism differs significantly from the ubiquitous reversed phase (RP) mechanism using C18 columns. Perhaps HILIC is not suited for the current issue? Maybe the column and/or the conditions were not chosen in an optimal way?
This webinar states how HILIC basically works; in which case the usage of this technique makes sense; what you absolutely should consider and how you can influence your analysis in regards to the choice of conditions. Moreover there will be a presentation on new applications for the analysis of QuPPEs, PFAs and amino acids on the new HILIC/IEX phase Polar X.
