Presenter: Dr Nigel Skinner (Head of Marketing, Andrew Alliance)
Dr Nigel Skinner is currently Head of Marketing at Andrew Alliance, which was acquired by Waters Corporation in Jan 2020. Prior to this, he was Global Head of Government & Academia Marketing at Thomson-Reuters Intellectual Property & Science Business. He has a strong track record and experience in marketing science products to the academic research community, especially within the life sciences. Previously, he was responsible for Global Segment Marketing (Academia & Government) of Life Science Products at Agilent Technologies, having worked for a number of years in the U.S. in increasingly senior positions in Product Marketing Management (both products and services) and Business Development. Nigel has a PhD (Life Sciences) from Cambridge University and an MBA from the Open University Business School, enjoys adventurous sports, and is married with 3 children, based in both London and Geneva.
Presenter: Dr. Patrick Courtney (Director, tec-connection)
Dr. Patrick Courtney, has more than 20 years industrial experience in the development of emerging technology, notably in the areas of sensing, perception and robotics with a special focus on technology transfer. He has worked as senior manager for global firms such as PerkinElmer, Sartorius and Cap Gemini, as well as with spinouts, SMEs and clients in sectors such as life science, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, manufacturing, and nanotechnology. He has a long involvement in EU and national RTD programmes as project participant, leader and reviewer. He holds an MBA with a PhD in robotic engineering/molecular biology, over 100 publications and 9 patents.
Presenter: Isabella Baldinin (Lab Manager, Genome Sequencing, Dante Labs)
Master degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. She has been the lab manager of Dante Labs since June 2019. Isabella was involved in the set-up and start-up of the sequencing center in Italy. She is expert of whole genome sequencing using short reads technology and she directly contributed to more than 30000 human whole genome sequencing with Illumina Novaseq6000 in less than 6 months. Under her leadership, Immensa has analyzed more than 2 million COVID-19 samples. Previously Isabella received training on NGS and Bioinformatic at the University of Hong Kong.
