LC-MS User Meeting 2020 - Omics/Proteomics Afternoon Session
Thermo Scientific: LC-MS User Meeting 2020 - Omics/Proteomics Afternoon Session
Proteomics and metabolomics have become widely adopted techniques, often multi-disciplinary, requiring the collaboration of biologists and medical doctors, of protein chemists, mass spectrometrists and bioinformaticians delivering the value of innovative applications and novel workflows as fresh knowledge on health, disease and biology. This field relies on the scientific community pushing the limits of mass spectrometry (MS) technology to gain understanding in various disease areas that can lead to effective diagnostics, treatments and vaccines. Over this day, we will highlight several of these cutting-edge developments and results in single cell analysis, spatial omics and clinical research deploying artificial intelligence for improved data acquisition and interpretation. Our specialists will also share their recommendations for achieving outmost performance with our instruments and software.

Presenter: Peter Mowlds (Expert Sale Support, Proteomics, EMEA, Thermo Fisher Scientific)
Peter is a member of the Expert OMICS team, specializing in proteomics, and primarily focusing on Tribrid platforms. Prior to joining the experts team he worked as a proteomics application specialist and trainer for Northern Europe. Before joining Thermo Fisher Scientific , Peter gained his PhD from NUI Maynooth and carried out postdoctoral research at UCD and Imperial College London.
Presenter: Sega Ndiaye (xpert Sale Support, Proteomics, EMEA, Thermo Fisher Scientific)
Sega is a member of the OMICS team as an expert in proteomics. His main focus is quantitation and targeted proteomics with all the Orbitrap instruments platform.
Before joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, Sega gained is PhD at ESPCI (Industrial Physics and Chemistry Higher Educational Institution) followed by a post doctoral position in the Biopharma industry.
Presenter: Samy Memmi (Expert Sale Support, Proteomics, EMEA, Thermo Fisher Scientific)
My name is Samy Memmi and I am a Sales Support Expert for proteomics applications at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
After a first taste during my PhD in Biochemistry at Ghent University, I turned passionate about mass spectrometry for the life sciences while joining the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry division of the company in 2009.
I enjoy foremost the interesting contacts with customers all across Europe, sharing knowledge and helping them facing their challenges with the use of our Orbitrap based technology and software.
I currently live near Brussels in Belgium where, outside of work, I stay active by running long distances, road cycling and giving my best in raising 2 teenage girls and a young boy.
