Biopharma Brilliance - Session 2
Agilent: Biopharma Brilliance - Session 2
Biopharma Brilliance Webinar Series:
Glycan & Sialic Acid Workflows in Biotherapeutic Glycoproteins: Sample Prep to Analysis.
Session 2: Improved Workflow for Sialic Acid Profiling and Quantitation
Sialic acid is critical in mediating the effectiveness of therapeutic glycoproteins. Its presence (or absence) on the non-reducing terminal of N- or O-glycans can dramatically affect the pharmacokinetics of the protein, as well as its immunogenicity. Depending on the molecule and the application, terminal sialic acid may reduce the rate of clearance, reduce antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) activity, or can be anti-inflammatory. Therefore, it is essential to monitor both the absolute quantity of sialic acid and also the levels of different sialic acid species present in therapeutic glycoproteins.
Join us for an engaging webinar where we discuss a new and improved high-throughput workflow for the preparation, separation, and detection of sialic acids labeled with 1,2-diamino-4,5-methylenedioxybenzene (DMB) using the AdvanceBio Sialic Acid profiling and quantitation kit.
What will you learn?
- Quick and easy release of sialic acids from glycoproteins, labeled with fluorescent DMB dye.
- Identification of sialic acid species with greater accuracy using a qualitative sialic acid reference panel (SARP) featuring six lyophilized sialic acids.
- Absolute quantitation of sialic acids with quantitative NANA (Neu5Ac) and NGNA (Neu5Gc) standards.
- Reduction of sample prep time to just 5 hours with no sample dry-down step.
- Analysis of proteins with low levels of sialylation at picomolar sensitivity.
Join both the session and get certified for Brilliance.
