Presenter: Roland Bruderer (Head of R&D LC-MS and Workflows, Biognosys AG)

Roland Bruderer works at the proteomics company Biognosys in Switzerland as head of research and development for LC-MS. Roland is working on advancing quantitative discovery proteomics for biomedical research focusing on proteome coverage and throughput. He received his PhD at the ETH Zürich in Hemmo Meyer’s and Matthias Peter’s group in biochemistry. Then, he moved for a post doctoral position to Dundee in Scotland in the group of Ron Hay to deepen his knowledge and application of MS based proteomics. In 2012, Roland also worked in a post doctoral position in the group of Ruedi Aebersold for the development of data-independent acquisition methods.

Presenter: Chloé Jacquemin (Université Paris-Saclay, CEA, INRAE, Département Médicaments et Technologies pour la Santé (DMTS), SPI)

My name is Chloé Jacquemin. I am a recently graduated pharmacist. I am particularly interested in research, especially in the field of neurology. To this end, I validated a first year of master in behavioral neuroscience. My first internship was in GMPc (Groupe Mémoire et Plasticité comportementale) at Caen, a lab working on behavioral plasticity and memory where I studied the impact of co-modulating targets of interest in Alzheimer’s disease. Then I went on with a second year of master from the National Museum of Natural History: Molecules and Therapeutic Targets. My second internship was at the MCAM lab (Molécules de Communication et Adaption des Micro-organismes). It focused more on learning to isolate and characterize natural products, as I am convinced of the potential of molecules already existing in nature to help prevent neurodegenerative diseases at early stages. Now I am a PhD student at CEA in the Pharmacology and Immunoanalysis department (SPI), under the tutelage of François Becher. During my thesis, I use high-resolution mass spectrometry with the objective of identifying new biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases to help provide patients with an earlier and more secure diagnosis.

Presenter: Ivalya Roberts (Doctoral Researcher, University of Liverpool)

Ivalya Roberts bio: Ivayla Roberts is a doctoral researcher at the University of Liverpool in Prof. Kell system biology group. Originally coming from computer science background (MSc, Montpellier France) Iva transitioned to molecular biology research via a Translational Molecular Medicine MRes (Manchester, UK). Iva’s research interests are metabolomics, mass-spectrometry, and the application of statistical and machine learning computational approaches to metabolomics. Iva’s PhD is focused on metabolomics in COVID-19.

Presenter: Santosh D. Bhosale (University of Southern Denmark)

I am pharmacist by training and pursued my PhD in the area of clinical proteomics and biomarkers discovery at University of Turku, Finland. Currently, I am a Postdoc in the lab of Prof. Martin R. Larsen at the University of Southern Denmark and involved in setting up the platform for clinical PTMomics.
