Become a Drug Testing Wiz with MS ß-glucuronidases: Simplify your urinalysis workflow

Due to improved analytical quality, ease of sample preparation, reduced incubation time, and automation capacity, ß-glucuronidase enzymes are increasingly used in drug testing.
In this webinar, discover a simplified LC/MS urinalysis workflow using a stable ß-glucuronidase mix designed for robust urine drug testing of even the most challenging conjugated analytes, including glucuronides such as opiates and opioids.
Using a new ß-glucuronidase solution, the method enables hydrolysis to be completed at room temperature or in your autosampler in a single step, providing a walkaway workflow that eliminates sample preparation bottlenecks while enabling fully automated hydrolysis and reproducible analytical results.
Key learning objectives:
- Urine sample preparation in forensic and clinical toxicology laboratories
- Enzymatic hydrolysis of drug glucuronide conjugates for urine drug testing by LC/MS
- Workflows suitable for forensic drug testing, workplace and prescription drug monitoring, antidoping, SAMHSA
- How this method is compatible with a wide range of glucuronide drug conjugates, including but not limited to opioids, opiates, benzodiazepines and cannabinoids and hormones
Who should attend?
- Clinical laboratories, toxicology laboratories, forensic laboratories
Presenter: Mark Pawlicki (Product Manager, Biomolecular Discovery Reagents, MilliporeSigma)
Mark Pawlicki earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry in 2012 from Indiana University. After holding various roles in process development and operations and new product development at MilliporeSigma, a business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, Mark went on to complete an MBA from Webster University in 2020 to prepare for his transition into a product management role over a portfolio of enzymes, substrates, and biochemical reagents that support many areas of research. The major focus areas for this product line are drug testing enzymes like beta-glucuronidase and sulfatase, which are used throughout academic service and testing laboratory settings.
Presenter: Lindsey Hess Rickershauser (Advanced Analytical Technology Specialist, MilliporeSigma)
Dr. Lindsey Hess Rickershauser is currently an advanced analytical technology specialist in the North America Applied Solutions division of MilliporeSigma, a business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. Within her role, she serves as a technical expert supporting the Supleco portfolio of analytical products, helping fellow scientists solve their toughest problems. She obtained her Ph.D. in chemistry from Johns Hopkins University, then joined Cerilliant Corporation (then a subsidiary of Sigma-Aldrich) in 2012 as a senior scientist specializing in certified reference materials in the clinical, diagnostic and forensic industries. During her six-year tenure as a senior scientist, she specialized in stable label isotope incorporation to both pharmaceutical and illicit drugs and their metabolites, concentrating on D and 13C incorporation. She then transitioned to the cheminformatics group, spending the next four years supporting the acquisition and commercialization of the SYNTHIA™ Retrosynthesis Software, leading the commercial and marketing team for the product. She transitioned into her current role in 2021, combining her scientific expertise with her passion for helping scientists accelerate their work and research in the analytical sciences.
